Russia and Mongolia

My fourth stop will take me across Europe and half of Russia into Siberia to the oldest and deepest lake in the world, Lake Baikal then down into northern Mongolia. Similar to  the indigenous tribes of the Amazon, Siberia and northern Mongolia has deep roots in its own shamanistic culture. I became interested in these shamans after watching a documentary called “The Horse Boy” which follows a family as they take their severely autistic child to be healed by the reindeer herder tribe shamans in northern Mongolia. The changes to the child after working with the shamans are awe inspiring, with real results seen immediately after a healing ceremony with them. For me, it will be interesting to see and experience the shamanistic practices of another culture halfway around the world compared to the Amazon rainforest shamans. Also I hope it will help me to further my healing work, filling in the gaps that my work in the Amazon has left.
